MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee men's basketball team will take on Wisconsin during the upcoming 2025-26 season, officially announced today by the program.
 
The Panthers and Badgers will battle on the hardwood on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025, in Madison, Wis., with the game time and broadcast information set to be announced at a later date.
 
This will be the first regular-season contest between the two programs since Dec. 21, 2019.
 
"We are grateful to the Wisconsin program and to Coach Gard for agreeing to play this game," Milwaukee head coach Bart Lundy said. "This contest will be terrific for Panther fans and for all basketball fans in the state of Wisconsin. We are excited to renew the in-state rivalry and wish that there were more of these games for the state and for each fanbase. We are certainly looking forward to competing in Madison in December."
 
The two in-state rivals first played each other in MKE's NCAA Division I era back in the 1992-93 campaign. The programs battled yearly from 1992 through 2015, with the Panthers claiming a thrilling 68-67 victory at the Kohl Center in one of the most recent matchups in December of 2015.
 
UW and MKE also renewed the rivalry in November of 2017 prior to that most recent matchup in December of 2019.
