MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee women's basketball team, under the direction of head coach
Kyle Rechlicz, has announced that
Valérie Cassidy-De Falco will join the team for her first season beginning in 2025-26.
Cassidy-De Falco will transfer to the Panthers from Eastern Washington University, a member of the Big Sky Conference located in Cheney, Wash.
"Valérie is a point guard that has competed at a high level both at the Division I level and internationally," commented Rechlicz. "She has a great ability to get downhill and put pressure on defenses. We've really enjoyed getting to know her as a person – her positive personality is contagious. We can't wait to add her to our competitive mix of returnees and newcomers."
Cassidy-De Falco appeared in three games during her freshman season, helping the Eagles to victories in each. She scored her first collegiate basket, along with an assist and a steal, in a mid-December matchup against Warner Pacific.
A native of Nottingham, United Kingdom, Cassidy-De Falco was a two-time member of the Great Britain U18 National Team and also competed with the Great Britain 3x3 U17 Team.
In addition to her international experience, she played in the Women's Elite Academy Basketball League where she recorded the third-highest assist average in league history at 6.9 per game. While competing in the Women's British Basketball League, she was selected as the WBBL Young Player of the Year and averaged 7.7 points with 3.2 assists per game.
A two-sport athlete at Nottingham Girls' High School, Cassidy-De Falco excelled in both basketball and tennis for the Wildcats. Notably, she posted a rare quadruple-double with 29 points, 11 rebounds, 12 assists, and 10 steals in a game against The Sheffield College in October 2023.
Cassidy-De Falco becomes the sixth newcomer to join Milwaukee for the upcoming season. She joins recent signees
Micayla Silas and
Tierney Madigan, along with fall signees
Elizabeth Favret, Madison Fitzgibbon, and Olivia Olson.
