Track & Field Competes Well at UW-La Crosse Final Qualifier

LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Milwaukee track & field team was back in action on Wednesday evening for the UW-La Crosse Final Qualifier.
 
Leading the way for the Panthers was Anna Szepieniec setting a new career best in the long jump, reaching 5.99m to claim the victory.
 
On the men's side, Anthony Buford followed up his championship performance with a fourth-place performance of 7.01m.
 
Nate Griepentrog put together the best 1500m run of his career, moving him into the eighth spot on the program's all-time leaderboard at 3:52.60.
 
In the high jump, Bryant McLaughlin cleared 1.99m to take fourth, and Caden Thomas hit 1.94m to finish in sixth.
 
Kallie Volk represented the women in the high jump, clearing 1.59m to take the fifth spot.
 
Anthony Kessler started his day in the 100m dash, crossing the finish line in 11.03. He returned to the track for the 200m dash where he posted a time of 22.47.
 
Joining Kessler in the sprints was EJ Kruse, he finished the 100m dash in 11.16, and the 200m dash in 22.31.
 
UP NEXT
 
The NCAA will release its official list of regional qualifiers next week. Athletes selected will move on to the NCAA West Regional Preliminary Rounds, held from May 28-31at Texas A&M's E.B Cushing Stadium in College Station, Texas.
