Milwaukee MBB Adds Transfer Amar Augillard To Roster

Named 2024 NJCAA Division I Player of the Year

April 24, 2025

MILWAUKEE – Amar Augillard of Zion, Ill., has signed with the Milwaukee men's basketball program and will play basketball for the Panthers next season, head coach Bart Lundy made official today.

"Amar is an extremely talented player that we recruited as he was coming out of Triton College in Illinois two years ago," Lundy said. "He was the National Junior College Player of the Year and led his team to the National Championship game."

This past season he was at Fresno State, where the 6-foot-5, 220-pound guard averaged 13.3 points and 2.5 rebounds per game for the Bulldogs.

"Amar is one of the best individual scorers I've ever seen in junior college basketball," Lundy said. "He is a player that wants to be at Milwaukee and wants to help us get to the NCAA Tournament. Our fans will love Amar and we are excited to add him to our program."

Prior to this past winter, Augillard was at Triton College in River Grove, Ill., where he was selected as the 2024 National Junior College Athletic Association Division I Player of the Year after averaging 22.7 points per game while finishing ranked No. 2 in the nation in total points (841), field goals made (296) and three-point field goals made (122). He led the Trojans to the Division I National Championship game and an overall record of 34-3 on the season.

Augillard's list of accolades also include NJCAA DI First Team-All American, Region 4 Division I Player of the Year, Region 4 Division I First Team selection, Region 4 Division I Tournament MVP, as well as a spot on the NJCAA DI Championship All-Tournament Team.

In 37 appearances that season he finished with 20-plus points in 24 games, as well as nine games of 30-or-more and a pair of 40-plus point outbursts – including a career-high 46 points against Truman College in which he went 12-of-18 from three-point range.

Augillard transferred to Triton after spending two seasons at Georgia Southern University. After redshirting his freshman season, Augillard played in 11 games for the Eagles, finishing with 33 points, 15 rebounds, and six assists, converting at an 83 percent clip from the free throw line and 54 percent from the floor.

At Zion Benton High School, Augillard earned back-to-back Illinois Basketball Coaches Association (IBCA) Class 4A All-State Team accolades. He averaged 28 points and 12 rebounds per game as a senior and finished his career with 2,174 points (second all-time in school history), including four games of 40+ points.
