Three from Women's Basketball Earn Academic All-District Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. – College Sports Communicators announced its 2024-25 Academic All-District Teams on Tuesday, recognizing women's basketball student-athletes for their efforts in the classroom in addition to their athletic success.
 
Milwaukee had three women's basketball players recognized as Kacee Baumhower, Anna Lutz, and Kamy Peppler received honors.
 
Baumhower joined the Panthers for her first year at Milwaukee in 2024-25 and is working towards completing her time in the marketing graduate certificate program. She entered the spring term with a 3.59 grade-point average.
 
She led the team in scoring this past season, averaging 11.8 points per game while scoring 378 points. She knocked down a team-best 55 makes from beyond the arc and finished the season second on the team with 73 assists and 35 steals.
 
Lutz will complete her bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at Milwaukee while minoring in physics, she has a 3.99 GPA while finishing her final semester at UW-Milwaukee.
 
This past season, Lutz was Milwaukee's leading rebounder, pulling down 169 boards for an average of 5.3 per game. She also led the team in scoring in Horizon League contests at 11.5 points per contest and led all Panthers with 31 blocks as one of just two players to start in all 32 games.
 
Peppler is currently studying general health sciences at Milwaukee and plans as she will enter her senior season in 2025-26. Peppler currently has a 3.91 GPA in the classroom.
 
Setting the junior record for assists in a season, Peppler wrapped up the campaign with 151 helpers. She was second on the team averaging 30.6 minutes per game and was third on the team in scoring with 298 points. In addition to her assist total, Peppler also led the Panthers with 44 steals in 2024-25.
 
This is the second consecutive selection for both Lutz and Peppler, who were both named to the 2024 Academic All-District Team a season ago.
 
Milwaukee's trio make up part of 13 student-athletes from the Horizon League to be recognized. Purdue Fort Wayne had four, Oakland had three, both Detroit Mercy and Youngstown State had two each, while both IU Indy and Wright State had one student recognized apiece.
 
To be recognized by College Sports Communicators an undergraduate student-athlete must be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically, and must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale, or a graduate student with a 3.50 gpa as both an undergraduate or graduate while competing in at least 90 percent of an team's contests, or start in at least 66 percent of the team's contests.
