INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- The Milwaukee swimming & diving teams were in action for day one of the Horizon League Championships Wednesday. The men set new school records in the 200 medley and 800 freestyle relays to highlight the day for the Panthers.

The 200 medley relay team of
Victor Kostov,
Alvin Valkki,
Caleb Carlisle, and
Ben Lorenz finished in 1:28.33 to improve on the record set earlier this season at 1:28.71, and finish fourth on the day.

Milwaukee followed that up in the 800 freestyle relay, with the team of
Jay Jensen,
Charlie House,
Jackson Ahrens, and
Gunnar Seversen finishing third, their time of 6:32.60 shattering the previous record of 6:37.08.

On the women's side, the Panthers took fourth in both relays, starting by posting a time of 1:41.18 in the 200 medley relay. They closed the day with a time of 7:23.81 in the 800 freestyle relay.

Competing in the three-meter dive,
Ben Stitgen qualified for the finals with a prelim score of 275.55. He went on to finish eighth scoring 268.25 in the final round.
Will Francis took 11
th on the day, notching a 243.00 to close his day.

Overall, the men sit in fourth place with 79 points, while the women close day one in fifth with 60 points.

Day two will begin with swimming prelims for the 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley, and 50 freestyle at 9:00 a.m. (CT). Prelims for the women's one-meter dive will start at 12:00 p.m. (CT), and final rounds for all events will start at 4:30 p.m. (CT) streaming live on
ESPN+.
