Madison, Wis. – The Milwaukee women's swim & dive team battled at the Wisconsin Badger Invitational Friday and Saturday.
"Championship season has started and we couldn't be happier," said head coach
Kyle Clements. "Across both teams, all classes, and all training groups, we had a lot of success."
Johanna Edgren started the Panthers off in the 200 IM with her 2:11.59 prelim time. In the finals, Edgren clocked a 2:12.25. She also saw success in the 200 Breaststroke (2:28.27).
In the 100 Breaststroke,
Bella Sponseller turned in a 1:08.56 effort, taking home second place in the event.
Kalli Stark was the top Milwaukee finisher in the 50 Freestyle A-Final, securing fifth with her 24.52 effort. Stark also competed in the 100 Freestyle A-Final where she recorded a time of 54.86.
"In a smaller meet like this, it's hard to create the championship atmosphere, but our athletes made the most of it and swam some championship times," added Clements. "Those that are waiting to swim in a couple of weeks should be really excited by what this group just did."
