INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Milwaukee swim & dive teams competed in the final day of the House of Champions meet hosted by IU Indy on Saturday.
"We look a lot different compared to the last time we were in Indianapolis, Ind., and we are really proud of that," head coach
Kyle Clements stated. "There are so many minutes and miles that these athletes must put in to even have a chance to swim as fast as they did. We are right at the halfway point of our season, and there is still a lot of work to be done."
At the end of the three-day event, the Panther men finished fifth out of 12 total teams, earning 1580 points. The women also finished in fifth out of 14 teams, securing 1616.5 points.
Sam Lorenz put together an impressive three-day stretch for the Black & Gold, claiming five first-place titles including a victory in the 200 Backstroke finals on Saturday. The sophomore clocked a time of 1:43.49 in the event, setting a new school record and finishing over two seconds faster than the next competitor. In his second event of the day, he led the unit of
Charlie House,
Gunnar Seversen, and
Max Dexter to a second-place finish in the 400 Freestyle Relay (2:57.20), breaking another Panther program record.
Logan Beebe put together a solid outing for the Panthers, touching the wall fifth in a loaded 200 Butterfly field. The freshman clocked a finals time of 1:48.61.
For the Milwaukee women,
Mara Freeman added to her successful season thus far. In the 200 Backstroke finals, she turned in a time of 2:02.55, finishing sixth.
Kiara Olmstead delivered for the Panthers in the diving portion of the meet, securing a seventh-place finish in the 3-meter finals, receiving 219.20 points.
Kristina Wittmann followed suit, also claiming seventh-place, this time in the 1-meter diving finals, earning 234.05 points.
Other notable performances for the Black & Gold included
Christiana Brooks touching the wall sixth in the 100 Freestyle finals (50.73) and
Maddi Hayashi turning in a third-place performance in the 200 Butterfly finals (2:02.61).
On day three, Milwaukee saw 41 individual swims in final events.
"This meet provides us with a quick snapshot of where we are and what we need to do moving forward," added Clements. "We will take a deep breath to recover and look back on all the good things over the Thanksgiving break and get back to work on December 1st."

Milwaukee will be back in action in 2026 when it hosts MSOE for the MKE Time Trials held in the Klotsche Natatorium. The event is scheduled for January 16-17.
