EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Milwaukee cross country team competed in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional hosted by the University of Evansville on Friday.
The Panthers finished 23rd out of 32 total teams, earning 672 points. This matchup featured many talented programs including Notre Dame, Wisconsin, and Michigan State.
Anelise Egge was the top Panther runner at the regional race, earning a 45th-place finish out of 230 competing runners. Egge turned in a solid outing, clocking a time of 21:05.35.
Rachel Helm was the next member of the Black & Gold to complete the race, crossing the finish line in 22:11.01.
In her first NCAA Regional action, freshman
Janiyah Taylor had an impressive day at Angel Mounds Cross Country Course, running the 6K race in 22:50.92.
Other Milwaukee runners that competed in Evansville, Ind., included
Anna Gallagher (23:25.32),
Lauren Ripley (23:40.88),
Hallie Hoger (23:01.35), and
Isabella Switalski (24:53.92).
Notre Dame won the regional meet with 22 points. Wisconsin finished as runners-up with 95 points and Toledo placed third with 104 points.
