GREEN BAY, WIS.- The Milwaukee men's cross country was back in action at the Phoenix Open hosted by Green Bay Friday afternoon.

The Panthers finished in fifth place out of the nine teams with a score of 104 points, Michigan Tech took home first place with a score of 44 points.

"The men's team ran extremely well as a unit," head coach
Andrew Basler says, "I'd say it's the best they've looked as a group since the Horizon League runner-up team in 2018."

Cullen Boyle led the way for Milwaukee finishing in 10
th place with a time of 25:13.9.
Carter Eckhoff finished right on Boyle's heels taking 11
th place with an 8k personal-best time of 25:17.5.

Sam Schreiber are a strong top three for us and will only continue to get stronger as the year goes on," continued Basler

Sam Schreiber after finishing with his 6k personal-best last week, set an 8k best this week taking 13
th place with a time of 25:22.9.

Lucas Picco finished in 35
th place with his time of 26:06.0.
Nate Griepentrog rounded out the scoring for the Panthers finishing with his personal best 26:16.0 to take 43
rd.

"It was the first 8k for the freshmen we brought in and I thought the group as a whole had a really good mindset," assistant coach
Jake Reilly added, "They're willing to put themselves out there and be a little adventurous with their racing."

Aiden Sosnowski (26:27.9),
Trey Meier (26:44.5), and
Harper Fahey (27:10.1) all finished with their personal bests in the 8k.
