MILWAUKEE – Milwaukee Baseball head coach
Shaun Wegner recently announced the addition of six student-athletes, who will be joining the Panthers beginning in the 2025-26 academic year.
Â
Set to join Milwaukee will be
Riley Golden of Crystal Lake, Ill.,
Max Glusick of Sun Prairie, Wis.,
Connor Harvie of Waterford, Wis.,
Turner Kuhnke of Greenville, Wis.,
Ryan Lemm of Janesville, Wis., and
Peter Visconti II of Gurnee, Ill.
Â
"I want to highlight the work that our staff,
Mike Porcaro,
Cory Bigler, and
Jack Sievers, did on the recruiting trail as we were looking to find the right fits to what Panther Baseball is and will become," commented Wegner. "We took a very targeted approach on finding the right 'baseball players' that also carry charisma, class, team-centric beliefs, and work ethic."
Â
"We believe we are bringing in a group of high school players that can impact our program immediately, each in their own way," Wegner added. "We value the character of these individuals, along with their families, to help build a winning culture and locker room for the next four to five years. It's a bright day for Panther Baseball!"
Â
Golden is a left-handed pitcher, who will intend to major in biology while studying at Milwaukee. He is currently a member of Wolves baseball team at Prairie Ridge High School in Crystal Lake, Ill., where he was an All-Area Honorable mention this past season after striking out 60 batters over 37 2/3 innings of work with a 2.70 ERA. A two-time team captain, Golden has also been a member of the high honor roll throughout his time in high school.
Â
"Riley has really good energy and bounce on the mound which is a trait we covet," noted Bigler. "He can really spin the baseball and has some natural deception in his delivery. Riley loves to compete and will challenge for leveraged innings as a freshman."
Â
Glusick can play a variety of positions for the Panthers once he dons the Black & Gold and will plan to study business once beginning his academic career at Milwaukee. He's a two-sport athlete at Sun Prairie East High School, playing baseball and basketball for the Cardinals. He's helped the team to a pair of Big Eight Conference Titles as well as a pair of WIAA Sectional Championships. This past season he earned Second Team All-State and was a First Team All-District and All-Conference honoree as he finished the year with a .475 batting average with 17 extra-base hits, 39 runs scored and 20 stolen bases.
Â
"Max is a talented player from Wisconsin that really started to pop over the last year or so," commented Porcaro. "He has a chance to help us at multiple positions due to his athleticism, but his best trait is that he is a winning ballplayer. If you are looking at tools, his speed stands out, but he does a lot of things very well in the game. He's got instincts, can defend, and comes through in clutch spots. He is a stand-up athlete that is going to work tirelessly to become a better player."
Â
Harvie is primarily a catcher and will attend Milwaukee with the intention of majoring in business and minoring in marketing. He has been a key contributor to the Waterford Union Wolverine baseball team and was selected as the team's most valuable player this past spring, while also earning First Team All-County and All-Conference honors. In 2024, he hit .500 at the plate with 13 doubles and 27 RBIs, while he caught 40 percent of baserunners attempting to steal against him as a catcher.
Â
"Connor comes to campus a polished receiver and someone who is a true catcher," said Wegner. "His flexibility and mobility allow him to adapt and react quickly to balls in the dirt. He has made strides with his bat, but our development staff is excited to see where he can get to. He should make an early impact in the Panther program."
Â
Kuhnke is another catcher that plans to study electrical engineering and minor in business once arriving at Milwaukee. A member of the Hortonville Polar Bear baseball team, Kuhnke was a member of the WIAA State Runner-Up team in 2023. This past season he hit .340 while helping the team to an 18-win season and was an All-Conference selection. He also earned All-District and All-League accolades as a sophomore and an All-League nod as a freshman in addition to winning the team's Golden Glove award in 2022.
Â
"We are excited to add Turner to the roster for the 2025-26 season," commented Wegner. "He is a big, physical backstop who has shown arm strength and strength within the bat as well. He has had the opportunity to catch some high-level arms in his career and has matured within the game yearly behind the plate. He still has plenty of room to grow both physically and mentally and I think Turner's best days are ahead of him."
Â
Lemm has versatility as a catcher and an outfielder for the Panthers beginning in 2026, who intends to major in business once he begins his academic career. Playing both baseball and basketball at Janesville Craig High School, he was a member of a Big Eight conference title in 2023 and a pair of WIAA Baseball Regional Championships each of the past two seasons. A Second Team All-Conference selection, Lemm has been a multi-time honor roll student.
Â
"Ryan is the definition of a baseball player and gym rat," added Wegner on Lemm. "He carries a high level of motivation and desire to be great in this game. He is another signee that will provide positional flexibility whether he roams the corner outfield, straps on the gear behind the plate, or is in the designated hitter role. His bat will be his carrying tool early in his career and we are excited to see where it can take him."
Â
Visconti adds yet another versatile piece for the Panthers in the future with the ability to play all over the field. He plans to study business at Milwaukee when he begins taking classes. A three-sport athlete at St. Joseph Catholic Academy, Visconti played baseball, soccer, and basketball. He was a member of state runner-up teams in both baseball and basketball and has been an All-State Baseball honoree and a three-time All-Conference selection. He currently holds a .400 batting average heading into his senior season, and has earned honor roll accolades in the classroom.
Â
"Peter was on our radar for quite some time," said Porcaro on Visconti. "We were very attracted to his offensive skillset and has displayed an ability to strike balls on the barrel consistently. He has an extreme amount of upside in the box and pairs it with a great work ethic. Peter is a very good competitor and has experienced lots of success playing for Kenosha St. Joseph's."
