MILWAUKEE- Milwaukee women's cross country runner Anelise Egge has been named Horizon League Women's Runner of the Week, the league announced this afternoon.
 
Egge added to an outstanding junior season at Friday's Joe Piane Invitational when she ran the 5K race in 17:18.2. The time set a new school record in the event, finishing seventh place in the 182-runner field at the meet.
 
This is the Panthers' first runner of the week of the season, and the second weekly award of Egge's career. She also won Freshman of the Week honors in 2022.
 
 Egge and the Milwaukee cross country team will be in action next Friday, Oct. 18 at the Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria, Ill.
