CHICAGO –
Natalie Block broke two records, including her own program record in the 60m hurdles today, as the Panthers competed at the Badgers Midwest Invite, hosted by Wisconsin in Chicago.
Block broke her previous program record of 8.33 seconds in the 60m hurdles by recording a time of 8.31 seconds to win the event. The senior hurdler continues to hold the top spot in the Horizon League and sits at 21
st in the country in the event. Block also placed third in the 300m dash with a time of 38.52 seconds, earning her Milwaukee's program record in the event and the 27
th spot in the country.
"We traveled around 75 athletes, so it was great seeing the fuller team competing," head coach
Andrew Basler said. "We had highlights in all the event areas, and I feel like the overall energy of the team was great."
Leah Handshoe took the top spot in the 600m dash, recording a time of 1:37.83 and winning by almost nine seconds.
Milwaukee's 4x400m relay team topped the podium with a time of 4:05.17. The team consisted of

Aubrey Anderson, and
Rachel Helm
Egge placed second in the 800m run with a time of 2:13.90. The time earns her the fourth spot on Milwaukee's all-time list, as well as the top spot in the conference. She also sits at 44
th in the country.
Olivia VanZeeland placed second in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.66m.
Anna Szepieniec and
Kortnie Volk took the second and third spots in the long jump, leaping 5.55m and 5.54m respectively. Szepieniec and Volk now rank in the top ten in the conference for the long jump.
Tabitha Wechlo placed third in the shot put with a mark of 14.14m, setting a new season best. Wechlo also competed in the weight throw, recording a distance of 13.99m.
Dominique Thomas just missed a podium in the 60m dash, placing fourth and recording a time of 7.47 seconds to beat her PR and improve on her already-second-best time in program history.
Kynnedi Malone placed fourth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.66 seconds, improving upon her own fifth best time in program history.
"We're excited to be at home next Saturday for the Tierney Classic," Basler commented. "We will be looking to build upon the success from this meet."
The Panthers are back in action next weekend, hosting the 11
th annual Tierney Classic on January 20
th. The event is scheduled for a tentative 10 a.m. start in the Klotsche Center.
