Anderson Leads the Way for Cross Country at the Pioneer Gender Equity Invite

September 23, 2023

CUBA CITYAubrey Anderson led the way for the Milwaukee women's cross country team today at the Pioneer Gender Equity Invite hosted by Platteville.

Milwaukee elected to send just three runners to the race, meaning they did not qualify for a team score, but all three Panthers finished in the top fifty percent of the field.

"We had a lot of steps in the right direction today," associate head coach Jake Reilly said. "We had good results and positive attitudes, which we need when getting focused for the conference championships coming up."

Aubrey Anderson finished in 13th with a time of 24:28.0 in the 6K. Following close behind her in 15th was Sara Jochims with a time of 24:53.2. Grace Kline finished with a time of 26:21.8, good enough for 41st overall.

"(Anderson) ran extremely confident today," head coach Andrew Basler said. "The younger girls ran well too, and I think we'll have a good idea of where we're at for conference after next meet."

The Panthers are back in action next Friday at the Blugold Invite, hosted by Eau Claire.
