Campbell Breaks Program Record in Long Jump at Illini Challenge

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Milwaukee men's track & field team was back at full capacity after last week's postponement as the Panthers took part in the Fighting Illini Challenge hosted by the University of Illinois at the Demirjian Park complex. The Panthers as a team finished the day with 59 points.
 
Milwaukee had three second-place finishes on the day as Anthony Campbell, Dylan Sieloff and Caleb Henry led the way for the Panthers.
 
Campbell opened his day with a program-best mark of 7.38 meters in the long jump, breaking the previous program record of 7.33 meters set just two springs ago.
 
Sieloff also had a second-place finish and was the top collegiate finisher with a pole vault height of 4.60 meters, a new outdoor career-best that placed him just outside the top-10 in program history.
 
Henry finished second in the 400m dash with a 48.10 to take over sixth on the record list in Panther history, besting his previous career mark by more than two full seconds. Zac Schmidt was sixth in the event to pick up three more points for the Panthers with a time of 49.12.
 
Golden Cotton was eighth in the 100m dash with a personal-best time of 10.57 as he moved into second on the record list by shaving 0.06 seconds off his previous best time. Cotton also led the Panthers in the 200m dash with a time of 21.88.
 
Dane Nelson posted a time of 14.67 seconds in the 110m hurdles to register two points for Milwaukee. He also added another three team points for Milwaukee in the 400m hurdles finishing with a time of 54.52.
 
Picking up six points in the discus and three more in the hammer throw, Caleb Rogalski hit a mark of 51.35m in the discus and had a 55.95 in the hammer.
 
Jack Misky also had a top-three finish in the javelin with a career-best throw of 42.27 meters, more than a full meter more than his previous career long.
 
With a third-place finish in the triple jump, Will Mortimer also net six points for the Panthers with a 13.75-meter jump.
 
The men's 4x100m relay was fourth with a time of 42.74, while the 4x400m relay team was ninth with a time of 3:29.95.
 
Other career-bests on the day included Caleb Anderson with a 22.68 in the 200m dash, while Chris Hudnall had a PR in the 110m hurdles at 14.93. Nate Griepentrog picked up a PR in the 800m with a 1:57.32.
 
Finnegan Shields had a career-long throw in the hammer as he finished with a 48.46m toss.
 
Milwaukee will once again be a split squad next week when the Panthers will take part in the three-day Gibson Invitational hosted by Indiana State, as well as the Green & White Invite hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran on April 15.
