WAUWATOSA, Wis. – The Milwaukee women's track & field team had a pair of victories on Thursday afternoon as the Panthers finished the meet in third place of seven teams with a team total of 87 points with a limited crew on hand at the event.

Milwaukee's two wins the afternoon came from
Olivia VanZeeland, who took first in the high jump at 1.65 meters, while
Jamie Pankratz won in the hammer with a throw of 46.62 meters in their Panther debuts for the outdoor season.

With their marks, both VanZeeland and Pankratz either broke into the top-10 on the all-time marks list in the high jump and the hammer throw, respectively.

The Panthers had success in the hammer throw behind Pankratz, as
Lauren Lietzke was second with a 45.54-meter throw.
Cynthia Hernandez was third at 44.58 meters and
Tabitha Wechlo was fifth at 39.87 meters.

Wechlo was second in the discus as she saved her best throw for last with a toss of 35.85 meters in her final throw of the day.

Following VanZeeland in the high jump was
Macy Woodward, who also made her collegiate outdoor debut and cleared a mark of 1.55 meters to take fourth in the high jump.

In the javelin throw, Milwaukee was led by
Olivia Busch as she paced five Panthers in the event with a second-place finish and a throw of 29.61 meters.
Kortnie Volk set a new personal best with a 28.97 in the javelin to finish third.

Jada Schuh was fourth in the javelin at 28.34 meters, while
Adaline Powell took eighth at 25.54 meters and
Aubrie Gorski finished with a throw of 16.40 meters. For Powell, the mark was a new career-best as the junior threw for the first time as a Panther.

Rounding out the throws for Milwaukee were Volk with a third-place finish at 10.69 meters, while Gorski was sixth at 9.35 meters, a new personal-best, and Schuh had a toss of 8.67 meters.

Katie Sciarini was Milwaukee's lone entry on the track, as the sophomore took third in the 100m hurdles with a 24.46 during her first action outdoors after two seasons of indoor track with the Panthers.
While part of Milwaukee's team will be back in action at the Fighting Illini Challenge this Saturday at 10:00 a.m., the split Panther squads will also be in action for two events next weekend with the Gibson Invitational at Indiana State and the Green & White Invite, also hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran.
