WAUWATOSA, Wis. – On Thursday, the Milwaukee men's track & field program was back in action at the Warrior Invite hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College, as a portion of the team took to action against local competition.

The team finished in third place with 111 points of the six teams to score at the event.

Milwaukee won four events on the day including three victories in throws as
Austin Wallace won the shotput,
Finnegan Shields won the discus, and
Tony Bretall won the javelin. Also notching a win for the Panthers was
Nick Hottinger, who took the top spot in the 110m hurdles.

Wallace won the shotput with a throw of 13.52 meters and took fourth in the discus at 40.07 meters as the senior set a pair of personal-best marks for the outdoor season. He also took second in the javelin with a throw of 50.10 meters.

Shields won the discus with 46.15-meter throw to set himself up for more success as the season progresses, while he also took third in the hammer with a personal-best toss of 45.90 meters.

Bretall won the javelin with a new career-best throw of 52.46 meters, while he was second in the shot put with a personal-best distance of 12.09 meters.

Jack Misky rounded out the throws unit on the day and helped sweep the top-three spots in the shotput with a 11.79-meter toss while also taking second in the discus at 42.63 meters.

On the track, Milwaukee's lone win came as Hottinger started his outdoor career with a victory in the 110m hurdles at 16.14, while also tallying a second-place finish in the 400m hurdles with a 58.97.

Chris Hudnall was fifth in the 100m dash with a time of 11.53 after setting a new personal-best time of 11.48 in the prelims to qualify for the finals.

Meanwhile in jumps the Panthers had
Tim Maidment finish fourth in the long jump at 6.32 meters, while
Bishop Bufford was fourth in the triple jump at 12.80 meters and fifth in the long jump at 6.25 meters, as the pair made their collegiate outdoor debuts.

While part of Milwaukee's team will be back in action at the Fighting Illini Challenge this Saturday at 10:00 a.m., the split Panther squads will also be in action for two events next weekend with the Gibson Invitational at Indiana State and the Green & White Invite, also hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran.
