MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee men's track & field team closed out a successful weekend at a pair of events, as the Panthers closed out the second day of the Gary Wieneke Memorial at the University of Illinois while also competing at the Marquette Invitational in nearby Wauwatosa.

The Panthers had three wins at the Marquette Invitational with
Caleb Henry picking up the win in the 400m dash,
Edgardo Valdes Gonzalez winning the 800m run, and
Trevor Wenzel taking first place in the 1500m run.

Ten personal bests were also set by the collective unit on Saturday, as Milwaukee builds upon recent success while heading into the final tune-up next weekend before the Horizon League Outdoor Track & Field Championships the first weekend of May.

Gary Wieneke Memorial
Milwaukee closed things out with a pair of throwing event in Central Illinois, as
Caleb Rogalski led the Panthers with a pair of third-place finishes. Rogalski was third in the discus with a toss of 48.39 meters, while also taking third in the shot put 15.97 meters.

Finnegan Shields was right behind Rogalski in the discus, securing a throw of 46.69 meters.

Marquette Invitational
The Panthers' three wins all came on the track as Henry took first in the 400m dash with a 48.91, Valdes Gonzalez was first in the 800m run with a 1:55.82, while Wenzel capped off the day for the trio of seniors with a 3:58.07 in the 1500m run.

Henry continued his successful afternoon with a personal-best time of 22.58 in the 200m dash, while
Zac Schmidt was right behind with a time of 22.60.

Schmidt was second for Milwaukee in the 400 with a 49.98. Three more personal-best times fell in the 800m run as
Gavin Czarnecki was fifth with a 1:57.24,
Wade Duffek had a 2:01.88, and
Sam Schreiber registered a time of 2:03.18.

In addition to Wenzel taking the top-spot in the 1500m run, the Panthers swept the podium as
Carter Eckhoff was just over two seconds behind Wenzel with a career-best time of 4:00.47, while
Aidan Sodemann was third with a 4:01.09.

Milwaukee's field entries saw
Caden Thomas set a personal-best with a 1.95m in the high jump, while
Anthony Campbell also had a career-best with a 1.95m height in the high jump.

Earlier in the day in throws,
Jack Misky and
Austin Wallace set new career marks in the discus as Misky took third with a toss of 44.60 meters, while Wallace had a toss of 41.24 meters.
