MILWAUKEE – On Saturday, the Milwaukee women's track & field team wrapped up its weekend of competition with the Panthers taking part in the second day of the Gary Wieneke Memorial at the University of Illinois, while also taking on the field at the Marquette Invitational hosted at Wisconsin Lutheran College in nearby Wauwatosa.

The split squad continued to build momentum in the closing weeks of the outdoor season. Numerous PRs fell for the team throughout the weekend for the Panthers despite some subpar weather conditions.

Gary Wieneke Memorial
Wrapping up the second day of the Wieneke Memorial, the Panthers wrapped up with the discus, shot put and pole vault.

Lauren Lietzke registered a pair of top-three place finishes in both the discus and the shot put, eclipsing a new personal-best and taking second in the discus with a toss of 44.36, while also connecting on a throw of 13.62 meters in the shotput for third place.

Tabitha Wechlo finished second in the shotput, just ahead of Lietzke with a throw of 14.24 meters.

Kate Watson was fourth in the pole vault, clearing 3.96 meters to lead the Panthers.
Â
Marquette Invitational
It was
Katie Burns to lead the way for Milwaukee at the Marquette Invitational with a pair of wins and personal bests as she crossed the line at 25.92 in the 200m dash, while also finishing first in the 400m dash at 58.34.
Courtney Hoppe also had a top-three finish with a 1:02.93 in the 400m dash.

Cailin Kinas was second in the 3000m steeplechase with a personal-best time of 11:08.82. With her time Kinas moved into third all-time in Panther history in the steeplechase.

The Panthers had plenty more top finishes as
Ally Schmitz was second, and the top collegiate runner, as she set a new career-best with a 2:18.93 in the 800m dash.
Aubrey Anderson was third with a 2:20.35.

In distance
Meg Swietlik was third in the 1500m run with a career-best mark of 4:52.97, while
Alayna Franson was not far behind with a fourth-place finish at 4:54.34.
Madison Franseen led Milwaukee in the 800m run with a 2:32.02.

In hurdles, it was
Enné Burton to lead Milwaukee with a time of 1:09.12, with
Katie Sciarini right behind with a 1:10.71 in fourth place.

Oliva VanZeeland took second in the high jump as she cleared 1.60 meters, while
Macy Woodward was third at 1.55 meters.

Kortnie Volk led Milwaukee in the shot put at the Marquette Invitational with a 10.54m,
Jada Schuh had a personal-best shot put at 9.35 meters.

Milwaukee heads to Louisville next weekend to take part in the two-day Clark Wood Invitational in Kentucky next weekend in the final tune-up before the Horizon League Championships.
