FAIRBORN – The Milwaukee men's cross country team finished in seventh place today at the Horizon League Championship, scoring 188 points as a team.
Leading the way for the Panthers was
Bryce Tome, placing 16
th and recording the fifth best time in program history at 24:49.48. The time was a new career best for Tome and was just seconds shy of a top-ten finish in the race.
"Bryce ran extremely well," head coach
Andrew Basler commented. "He really dedicated himself to his craft, coming back as a fifth-year, and has had probably the best season of his career. He just missed all-league honors, and really set an example for the young guys on the roster."
Aidan Sodemann,
Lucas Picco, and
Carter Eckhoff were the next finishers for Milwaukee, crossing the finish line in 41
st, 42
nd, and 43
rd. Picco recorded a new career best with his time of 25:52.34.
Cullen Boyle was the final runner to score for the Panthers, crossing the finish line in 46
th.
"We've made some mistakes throughout the season and didn't run like we'd learned from them yet today," associate head coach
Jake Reilly said. "Now we have one more chance to learn from them before the regional meet in two weeks."
The Panthers have until November 10
th to regroup for the NCAA Regional meet. This year's regional meet will be held in Madison, Wisconsin.
