Anelise Egge set a new career best 6K time and led the Panthers today at the Bradley Pink Classic.
Egge finished 46
th out of 258 runners with a time of 22:03.2, besting her previous PR by over 17 seconds.
Cailin Kinas was the next to finish for Milwaukee, crossing the finish line in 81
st with a time of 22:29.8.
"I think the women would've finished better if we'd gotten a better start, especially by the 2K mark," head coach
Andrew Basler said. "We'll learn from it and use it to put ourselves in a better position at the championship in two weeks."
Rachel Helm turned in a season-best time of 22:56.1, placing 129
th, and was followed by
Anna Gallagher and
Brittany Helm in 160
th and 165
th, respectively.
As a team, Milwaukee finished 25
th with a score of 552.
"As a team, we still haven't had our best weekend of the season yet," associate head coach
Jake Reilly said. "We've had some really good individual weekends, but I don't think we've had a complete weekend yet. That gives us a lot of excitement heading into conference in two weeks."
Running in the women's 6K "white" race,
Eileen Tocco finished with a time of 23:07.7, good enough for 21
st and a new career best.
Sara Jochims took 37
th with a career-best time of 23:43.1, and
Aubrey Anderson followed closely behind in 38
th with her own career-best time of 23:47.1
Up next for the Panthers is the Horizon League Championship meet, which is set for October 28
th and is hosted by Wright State.
