Egge Sets New Career Best Time for Panthers at Bradley Pink Classic

October 13, 2023

PEORIAAnelise Egge set a new career best 6K time and led the Panthers today at the Bradley Pink Classic.

Egge finished 46th out of 258 runners with a time of 22:03.2, besting her previous PR by over 17 seconds. Cailin Kinas was the next to finish for Milwaukee, crossing the finish line in 81st with a time of 22:29.8.

"I think the women would've finished better if we'd gotten a better start, especially by the 2K mark," head coach Andrew Basler said. "We'll learn from it and use it to put ourselves in a better position at the championship in two weeks."

Rachel Helm turned in a season-best time of 22:56.1, placing 129th, and was followed by Anna Gallagher and Brittany Helm in 160th and 165th, respectively.

As a team, Milwaukee finished 25th with a score of 552.

"As a team, we still haven't had our best weekend of the season yet," associate head coach Jake Reilly said. "We've had some really good individual weekends, but I don't think we've had a complete weekend yet. That gives us a lot of excitement heading into conference in two weeks."

Running in the women's 6K "white" race, Eileen Tocco finished with a time of 23:07.7, good enough for 21st and a new career best. Sara Jochims took 37th with a career-best time of 23:43.1, and Aubrey Anderson followed closely behind in 38th with her own career-best time of 23:47.1

Up next for the Panthers is the Horizon League Championship meet, which is set for October 28th and is hosted by Wright State.
