INDIANAPOLIS – On Tuesday, the Horizon League announced its weekly Track and Field honorees with Milwaukee's
Caleb Rogalski selected as Field Athlete of the Week.
Â
This is Rogalski's first selection of the season, and second for his career after being named Field Athlete of the Week in mid-February 2022. He is the first men's track and field athlete from Milwaukee to be selected for conference recognition on the young season.
Â
This week Rogalski set a new personal record in weight throw at 18.29 meters to win at this weekend's John Tierney Classic hosted by the Panthers at the Klotsche Center. His weight throw was 3.16 meters longer than his closest competition at the meet as he currently leads the Horizon League by 1.19 meters.
Â
Rogalski also won the shot put on Saturday with a throw of 17.03 meters, which is also a season-high, and is currently second in the Horizon League, just .26 meters off the conference mark. Rogalski has a career-best throw in the shot put of 17.07 meters, set back in mid-January of 2022 at the John Gartland Invitational.
Â
Milwaukee will return to action on Friday and Saturday this weekend, when the Panthers pay a visit to the University of Minnesota for the Jack  Johnson Classic.
