Panthers Ink Darius Duffy To National Letter Of Intent

Lundy adds a second recruit in recent signing period

MILWAUKEE – Darius Duffy has signed a National Letter of Intent to play men's basketball for the Milwaukee Panthers, head coach Bart Lundy officially announced today.

Duffy, a 6-foot, 8-inch, 225-pound forward, is currently competing in his sophomore season at Ranger College in Ranger, Texas.

"We are excited to welcome Darius to our program," Lundy said. "He is a high-character young man who has only scratched the surface of his basketball potential. Darius is an excellent student and has an infectious personality. He will be a fan favorite with his dunks and smiles."

Duffy has played in five games so far in 2022-23, averaging 5.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per game while connecting on 57 percent of his field-goal attempts.

Duffy spent his freshman campaign at Kaskaskia College in Centralia, Ill., playing in 29 games. He averaged 6.9 points and 7.3 rebounds per contest, shooting 58.3 percent from the floor while blocking a team-high 82 shots (2.8 bpg). His season-highs included an impressive 18-point/15 rebound double-double (9-for-10 from the floor) versus Lake Land College in the middle of January, as well as an eight-block performance against Lincoln Trail College in mid-December.

Duffy signed with the Panthers after receiving offers from FIU and Radford as well as drawing interest from Jacksonville, Robert Morris, Cal State Bakersfield, and Longwood. At Murray High School (Murray, Ky.), he averaged a double-double of 10 points/10 rebounds his final season, shooting 70 percent from the floor.
