MILWAUKEE – Devon Hancock has signed a National Letter of Intent with the Milwaukee men's basketball team, head coach
Pat Baldwin announced today.
Hancock will join the incoming freshmen class for the Panthers after wrapping up his prep career at Mesquite Horn High School in Mesquite, Texas.
"We are extremely excited to add Devon to our roster," Baldwin said. "He solidifies our freshmen class and gives us a great character young man who is highly competitive and driven to win."
Hancock, a 6-foot-3, 190-pound guard, was named First-Team All-District this past season after averaging nearly 18 points, five rebounds, two assists and one steal per game. A very good shooter from long-range – he made 83 three's – Hancock led the team to a 26-11 record and the school's first-ever district championship.
"Devon can impact the game with his ability to stretch the floor with tremendous range, get by defenders with his explosiveness or attack on the defensive end," Baldwin said. "His work ethic and passion for the game will be a great attribute to add to our team."
Hancock also competed on the AAU circuit for Coach Darius Coleman and Lone Star Elite.
