ROCHESTER, Mich. – Bella Passamani of the Milwaukee women's swimming and diving team headlines the final day of the 2020 Horizon League Championship with a bronze medal in the 200 fly.
Swimming out of lane one in the championship final, Passamani had an incredible finish to sneak in to touch the wall in third place with a personal record time of 2:04.65. Her time is the second-fastest in program history.
The Panthers finished fifth as a team after scoring 336.5 points.

Bri Zablocki also had a big day in the 200 fly. The freshman first swam a personal record time of 2:07.16 to advance to the consolation final, but during finals is when she really turned on the jets. Zablocki took total control of the B-Final to touch the wall first (ninth overall) and she dropped two more seconds for another personal record time of 2:05.02. Her time moves her up from No. 10 to No. 4 on the Panther All-Time Top-10 list.
Also qualifying for finals in the 200 fly was
Madeline Worgull. The sophomore grabbed a personal record time of 2:12.34 in prelims to advance to the consolation final where she placed 16th overall in 2:13.09.
Giulia Guerra-montes earned her second fourth-place finish at the League meet. The sophomore threw down a time of 2:02.03 in the 200 back championship final to take the fourth spot on the podium.
The freshmen duo of
Riley Melendy and
Amber Secrist both advanced to the 200 back consolation final after picking up personal best times of 2:04.43 and 2:05.10 respectively. The pair went on to finish 12th and 14th overall.
In the 100 free,
Kelen McDaniels raced to a personal best time of 52.45 during prelims to sneak into the consolation final. The freshmen went on to finish 16th overall during finals with a time of 52.91.
Madeline Worgull also competed in the 1650 free during the day and picked up another personal record of 17:46.46 to finish 16th for the Panthers.
Closing out the League Championships was the 400 free relay. The team of
Kelen McDaniels,
Cassandra Hutchins,
Sydney Dahl, and
Natalie Hey touched the wall in fourth place with a time of 3:30.18
Today's overall stats for both teams include 25 season bests, 11 lifetime bests, and two Bronze medalists.

The Panthers look next to the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships hosted by SMU on March. 9-11 in Dallas, Texas.
