MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Milwaukee women's basketball team kicks off its 2019-20 campaign with an exhibition on Wednesday evening, hosting Viterbo University at 7:00 pm from the Klotsche Center.
Last year, the Panthers captured their fifth consecutive double-digit win season, helping head coach
Kyle Rechlicz earn her 100th career victory. With a 10-8 Horizon League record, Milwaukee earned the sixth seed for the Horizon League Tournament and nearly upset third-seeded Youngstown State but fell in the quarterfinal matchup.
Rechlicz graduated a pair of seniors but will have an experienced group on the floor with 13 returners. The eighth-year head coach has four of her top five scorers back and over 80 percent of totaling scoring from a year ago.
Of the 15 on the roster for Milwaukee, eight are upperclassmen led by four seniors including
Alyssa Fischer,
Lizzie Odegard,
Jamie Reit, and
Jaye Two Bears.
Milwaukee faces Viterbo University in the exhibition, a first-time matchup of the two teams. The V-Hawks already have a pair of regular season games under their belt, falling to Western Ontario and the University of Guelph.
