MILWAUKEE āĀ The Milwaukee women's swimming & diving team extends their winning streak at home to 16 after holding off Cleveland State on Friday, Oct. 25, at the Klotsche Natatorium in Milwaukee, Wis.Ā The Panthers outscored the Vikings 165.5 ā 132.5 in the first-ever dual between the two teams.

Milwaukee claimed 10 events on the night, including both relays.Ā

The young Panther squad of
Molly Meland,
Andrea Bellart,
Hannah Pozezinski, and
Kelen McDaniels grabbed the win in the first event of the day in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:48.49 while McDaniels,
Cassandra Hutchins,
Meegan Snyman, and
Natalie Hey ended the day with another Panther win in the 200 free relay (1:38.96).

Additionally, three different Panther freshmen each grabbed a pair of wins.

Meland, continuing her strong start to her collegiate career, had two big wins in both her individual events in the 100 back (58.69) and 100 fly (57.80).Ā

Bri Zablocki also had herself a night after claiming first in both the 200 fly (2:09.79) and the 200 IM (2:10.73).

The Panther diving standout
McKenzie Sanchez did was she does best by leading the field in both the one-meter and the three-meter. Sanchez first threw down a top score of 282.83 on the three-meter. This score now puts her at number seven on the Panther top-10 list. The freshman then ended the competition with a win on the one-meter with a score of 268.13.Ā

Sophomore
Giulia Guerra-Montes and McDaniels each claimed a win in an individual event to round out the Milwaukee 10 wins.

Guerra-Montes led the field in the 200 back after touching the wall just ahead of Cleveland State with a time of 2:06.03.

McDaniels was a key member of both winning relays while also grabbing a win for herself in the 50 free (24.90).

In addition to McDaniels winning the 50 free, Hutchins and Snyman placed second and third for the Panthers, with a time of 24.99 and 25.33 respectively.

Guerra-Montes had an exciting race after coming from behind late to tie for second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:12.31.

The Panthers had many top-3 finishes to help Milwaukee claim the win.

UP NEXT
The Panthers will take a week off before heading to the state of Illinois for a pair of dual meets. Milwaukee will first take on Wheaton on Friday, Nov. 8 at 4:30 p.m. in Wheaton, Ill. followed by UIC on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 11 a.m. in Chicago, Ill.
