MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Seniors
Ahmed Ghallab and
Kareem Nofel led the Panthers with wins in a loss to Horizon League opponent UIC Saturday from the Klotsche Natatorium.
Seniors
Ahmed Ghallab and
Kareem Nofel accounted for two event wins for the MKE Panthers Saturday in the dual against the Flames.
In the 100 Freestyle, Ghallab finished in a fast 42.55 with teammates
Jasper Appleton (48.18) and
Bailey Bodart (48.22) finishing in third and fourth in the same event.
Coming in with another quick time, Nofel took the 100 Butterfly in a photo finish against UIC's Mitch Milosch. Nofel touched the wall at 51.40 while Milosch came in right behind at 52.20. Panther teammate
Ryan Menninga also picked up valuable points for the team with a third place finish at 52.24 – right behind Milosch.
For the rest of the dual, the Panthers finished runner-up in six other events.
Senior
Ben Cadel came away with two second place finishes in the 100 and 200 Backstroke events. Cadel timed in at 52.36 in the 100 and 1:55.06 in the 200.
Mason Schoof, Brandon Niemic and
Bailey Bodart accounted for the other runner-up finishes for the Panthers. Schoof was edged out by UIC's Michael Tegeler in the 200 Freestyle at 1:43.56 to Tegeler's 1:43.48.
Other photo finishes included Niemiec's and Bodarts races in the 100 Breaststroke and 50 Freestyle. Niemiec touched the wall at 59.14 to UIC's Daniel Sivak's 58.41 in the 100 Breaststroke, and Bodart came in just behind Connor Homans at 21.86 to Homan's 21.54.
Milwaukee wrapped up the afternoon with it's final runner-up finish in the 200 Freestyle.

MKE will have some downtime from competition until their big mid-season showcase for the 25
th annual Miami Invitational. The Invite will run from Nov. 29-Dec. 1 hosted by Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
