Panthers Battle Flames on the Road

CHICAGO, Ill. – The Milwaukee men's swimming and diving team wrapped up its dual meet with UIC by claiming four event wins and a number of solid finishes Saturday.
 
UIC claimed the win by a score of 178-122.
 
Spencer Peronto and Dakota Skenandore began the meet with a solid second and third place finish scoring 301.20 and 266.48 respectively in the 3-meter dive. Skenandore also scored a second place finish in the 1-meter dive event as well.
 
Panthers' Jacob Fase (58.96) claimed the 100-yard breaststroke, and Brandon Niemiec finished close behind timing in at 59.60 for third. Fase (2:09.62) also picked up a W in the 200 breaststroke.
 
Junior Ahmed Ghallab won the 100-yard freestyle clocking in at 46.64. Ghallab (21.71) also earned a second place finish in the 50 free, slightly behind Flames' first place time of 21.31.
 
UWM wrapped up the meet in winning fashion, winning the 400 freestyle relay. Ghallab, Kyle Gerum, Fase and Jasper Appleton narrowly beat UIC's squad by .05. The Panthers winning time was 3:07.61.
 
The Panthers have a three-week break from competition before returning to the pool for a meet in Ohio for the Miami Invitational. The three-day meet begins Nov. 30 and concludes Dec. 2.
