MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee men's and women's swim and dive team continue their road warrior type mentality as they travel to Illinois for two meets beginning Friday, Nov. 3. UWM will compete against Wheaton College Friday, and conference opponent UIC on Saturday, Nov. 4.
LAST TIME OUT
On Friday, Oct. 27, UWM took a clean sweep over former conference opponent Valparaiso. The women defeated the Crusaders 177-71, winning 10-of-11 events while the Panther men's team went a perfect 11-for-11 in events for a 133-63 final.
Against Wright State the following day, the women's swim team continued their dominance defeating the Raiders 177-71 for the outright victory. The men's team fell shy of a head-to-head win, but the meet was highlighted by junior Ben Cadel with three second place finishes.
BENTLEY ADDES YET ANOTHER ACCOLADE TO HER IMPRESSIVE COLLEGIATE RESUMÉ
Now seven-time Horizon League Swimmer of the Week, Bentley captured said status for the week of Oct. 23 performances. Bentley garnered four individual event wins, a second place finish, and three relay wins.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT WHEATON AND UIC
Wheaton
Both the men's and women's team competed in their first meet last weekend (Oct. 28) against University of Chicago. The men won 139-66 while the women fell 115-90.
The DIII powerhouse have an impressive history winning a total of 50 conference championships since it's induction. The women have been on a remarkable run of 19-straight CCIW Championships (1998-2017), while the men have accumulated 25 championships of their own. Of it's 50 CCIW titles, Jon Ledershouse was at the helm of the program for 47 of them. In March, Wheaton named Jacob Ayers and Meghan Ayers head of the program after Lederhouse announced his retirement.
UIC
The UIC women currently sit 4-2 on the season and recently defeated conference opponent Green Bay 175-125. The Flames finished in third place, behind Milwaukee in last season's Horizon League Championship. UIC was predicted to finish tied for third in this season's Horizon League polls.
On the men's side, the Flames are currently 2-2 on the season with a loss to Green Bay. Like the women, the men finished in third place in last year's Horizon League Championship, slightly ahead of the Panthers.
2017-18 Horizon League Coach of the year, Tim Loeffler enters his fourth year with the program.

Adrienne DiFoggio swam one of the quickest times in the 1000 freestyle at the UIC meet two seasons ago, swimming a fast 10:58.90.
Dane Van Allen, also swam the same event in 10:11.03 for one of the top Panther times of the season 2015-16 season.
UP NEXT
The Panthers don't return to action until November 30 as they travel to Oxford, Ohio for the Miami Invitation. The three-day meet starts Friday, Nov. 3 and runs until Sunday, Dec. 2.
