MILWAUKEE - Juniors Jordan Diel and Brady Huemann and the 200 medley relay team all broke Klotsche Natatorium records Saturday afternoon as the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's swimming & diving team handily topped Western Illinois University, 211-62. The Panthers swept all 16 events on the day in winning for the ninth-straight time in the series, improving to 9-3 in dual meets on the season.

The 200 medley relay team opened the meet with the record. The squad, made up of senior Matt Kluczinske and juniors Sam Keele, Diel and Kyle Trelka touched the wall in 1:33.81 to beat the former standard of 1:34.55. It's actually the second time the mark has been bettered this season, as that time was recorded just 13 days ago against Carthage (Trelka, Huemann, Diel, Jake Kalinowski).

"When these guys get excited about something, they make it happen," UWM head coach Kyle Clements said. "They knew they wanted that record today. They have their team goals as we move forward and every team goal they have set so far they have achieved and there are only a couple more to go. So we are looking for a fast and exciting last month."

In addition to the relay record, Diel lowered his own pool mark in the 100 butterfly. He touched the wall in 49.66 today, bettering the 50.68 that he went Oct. 22. He also won the 200 butterfly in a time of 1:51.45.

Huemann also topped his own mark, winning the 200 breaststroke in 2:06.29 to beat the standard of 2:07.17 that he set against Carthage just 13 days ago.

Program records continue to fall for this team, and a look at the record book proves it. The overwhelming majority of all school, pool and freshmen record are held by members of the 2010-11 roster.

"The work that has been put in over the past four years, or so, is really starting to show and this program is starting to become what we all knew it could be," Clements said. "The work from the current and past coaches is all reflecting on our current team."

Keele was the only other Panther to win more than one event, claiming the 200 IM in 1:56.13 and touching out the victory in the 100 breast in 58.91. Sophomore David Dvorak was second in 59.46.

UWM swept the diving events, with junior Jake Koll leading the way on the three-meter (278.85 points) and freshman Trevor Sisson on the one-meter (243.15).

The Panthers would go one-two in a couple of other close finishes as well. Freshman Jeff Maxwell claimed the 1000 freestyle by just over two seconds, touching the wall in 9:46.12. Freshman Chris Jenkyns was second in 9:48.38. Jenkyns did win an event of his own, leading the way in the 200 backstroke in 1:53.88.

A trio of upperclassmen had a solid outing on "Senior Day", each claiming a win: Jake Kalinowski accomplished the feat in the 100 free in 47.46, Dan Heraly in the 500 free in 4:39.60 and Kluczinske the 100 back in 52.87, narrowly edging Trelka (52.92).

Rounding out the list of winners was sophomores Nathan Welchlin (200 free in 1:42.44) and Mike Schalla (50 free in 21.50). In addition, the 800 free relay team closed out the meet with a victory in 7:02.76.

Milwaukee closes out the regular season with a final meet at Green Bay, starting at 2 p.m. Feb. 5.
