ROCHESTER, Mich. - The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's swimming & diving team posted a record of 1-2 at the Golden Grizzly Quadrangular Meet on Saturday. Senior Jeff Jasinowski finished second in both diving events and sophomore Chase Gravengood placed second in the 200 butterfly and third in the 200 IM to help lead the way.

The Panthers defeated Wayne State, 122-119, but lost duals to both Cincinnati (142-95) and to Oakland (186-57).

"This was another meet where we were going against some top competition," Milwaukee head coach Dave Clark said. "Highlights will be more on an individual level than for the team."

Gravengood had the top finishes for the swimmers, defeating Wayne State and Cincinnati in placing second overall in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:55.82, narrowly missing the outright victory. He was touched out by Oakland's Jason Manasseri, who won the event with a time of 1:55.56.

Gravengood also posted a victory over Wayne State in the 200 IM, finishing third in a time of 1:57.80.

"We have a few people coming around and still had a lot of good swims today," Clark said. "It's still early."

Jasinowski was second in the one-meter event with a season-best 243.15 points. His 253.20 points earned a second-place showing on the three-meter board as well. Junior Kyle Luska was fourth overall on the one-meter board.

Other top UWM finishers included fourth-place showings by freshman Robby Leibold in the 1000 free and sophomore Tyler Jefferson in the 200 backstroke.

The Panthers return home for their next meet, a dual against Horizon League foe UIC on Saturday. The two teams are scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
