MILWAUKEE – On Wednesday, head women's basketball coach
Kyle Rechlicz announced that Kylie Butler will join the Panthers beginning in 2026-27 season.
Butler will join the Panthers from Argyle High School in Wisconsin, where she scored over 2,000 points during her prep career with the Orioles.
"We're thrilled to add Kylie Butler to our MKE Family," commented Rechlicz. "Scoring over 2,000 points in high school is a testament to her consistency, toughness, and competitive mindset. What excites us just as much is her background—she comes from a family with a tradition of successful basketball players, and that experience shows in the way she approaches the game. She and her family are going to be great additions to our program."
Her 2,000th career point came in late January, as she finished her career ranked 27th in Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association history with 2,185 points. She is one of just 51 players in state history to reach the 2,000-point plateau.
While in high school, Butler helped the Argyle/Pecatonia program to over 70 victories, including a 22-5 record as a senior. This past season, she averaged 20 points per game along with 4.3 assists and 3.5 steals.
Her efforts as a senior earned her a second career All-State selection, as announced by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. Her first selection came as a sophomore.
During her time with the Orioles, the team earned a top seed in the Division 5 bracket and cruised to a regional championship this past season. As a junior the team competed at the Division 4 level, with Argyle advancing to the regional finals.
The team's most successful campaign came during Butler's sophomore season, when the Orioles were once again a top seed in the Division 5 bracket and won both regional and sectional titles before falling in the state semifinals at the Resch Center in Green Bay. Butler averaged 22 points per game that season and was named Six Rivers East Co-Player of the Year.
Butler began her career at Darlington High School before transferring to Argyle as a sophomore. While there, she helped the sixth-seeded Redbirds to 18 wins and an appearance in the WIAA Regional Finals following an upset over the No. 3 seed Deerfield.
A three-sport athlete at Argyle, Butler also competed for the volleyball team in the fall and the softball team in the. She earned multiple First Team All-Conference selections in both volleyball and softball in addition to her basketball honors.
Butler plans to study psychology at UW-Milwaukee upon her arrival to campus.
She joins Nataya Donaldson as a newcomer to the team in 2026-27.
Donaldson announced her intentions to join the Panthers in November.
