Volk’s Runner-Up Long Jump Highlights Panthers in La Crosse

La Crosse, Wis. – The Milwaukee women's track & field team traveled to La Crosse, Wis., for the Mark Guthrie Legacy Invitational Saturday.
 
Isabel Roloff started the day with an eighth-place finish in the 60-meter dash, clocking a finals-qualifying time of 7.81. She finished eighth again in the finals of the event, registering a 7.88 performance.
 
In a 24-runner field, Ally Schmitz crossed the line eighth, finishing in 2:19.72.
 
In the mile run, Eileen Tocco cracked the top-10 with her 5:21.58 effort.
 
Alexandria Simmons posted a fourth-place outing in the high jump, tying her season-best 1.58-meter clearance.
 
The trio of Hailey Soriaga, Emma Johnson, and Ella Laughbaum all landed within the top-10 in the pole vault. Soriaga led the charge, jumping 3.68 meters to finish fourth. Johnson and Laughbaum ended sixth and seventh, recording leaps of 3.68 meters and 3.53 meters, respectively.
 
In the long jump, Kallie Volk took charge, ending as runner-up. Volk cleared 5.50 meters, a mark that ranks her ninth in the Horizon League in the event.
 
Lauren Wickus turned in an eighth-place effort in the long jump, leaping 5.16 meters.
 
Mercedes Herrera made her presence known in the weight throw, earning a seventh-place finish with her 14.80-meter throw.

Milwaukee track & field looks ahead to a pair of meets in the coming week, competing in Grand Valley State's Big Meet Friday and DePaul's Blue Demon Alumni Classic Feb. 13.
