September 10, 2025

MILWAUKEE – With the recent announcement of the Milwaukee men's basketball program participating in the "Milwaukee Hoops Showdown" against South Dakota State, the complete 2025-26 non-conference schedule has now been fully released.

The team will get things underway for the new campaign with the NIL Exhibition event against Parkside Oct. 25 and is also announcing today a new date for the home contest against Dominican.

As a reminder to fans, tickets to the exhibition against Parkside are NOT part of the season membership package and can only be bought in advance through the following LINK HERE.

The Panthers contest against the Stars, which was originally announced to be played November 17, has been moved and will now be played November 25.

"Our 2025-26 non-conference schedule is both exciting and extremely challenging," head coach Bart Lundy said. "We have a good slate of home games and some away contests which will allow us to be road-tested."

The Panthers will play one of their most challenging non-league slates in memory, facing two opponents ranked in the final Top 25 poll, five different teams that advanced to the postseason last winter, as well as numerous other top-notch opponents over the course of the campaign.

"November is an especially difficult month with most of our more-challenging road trips," Lundy said. "In December, we have some unique games including South Dakota State at Fiserv and our non-conference concludes with a trip to Madison to play the Badgers. Get your tickets soon … it will be a great ride!"

In addition to the signature event at Fiserv Forum now set for December 19, Milwaukee will end up facing four teams that finished in the Top 100 of the NET (two in the Top 15), the NCAA Evaluation Tool (NET) rankings, which replaced the RPI prior to the 2018-19 season as the primary sorting tool for evaluating teams.

Topping that list is No. 7 Texas Tech, joined by No. 15 Wisconsin, No. 54 Indiana, and No. 91 Akron.

The Red Raiders went 28-9 a year ago and advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament; the Badgers were 27-10 and made it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament; the Hoosiers went 19-13, and the Zips finished 28-7 overall – and lost just once in the Mid-American Conference – and played in the NCAA Tournament.

In addition to those resumes, Wofford also played in the NCAA Tournament and Wichita State made an appearance in the NIT.

It all starts with Hampton, which went 17-16 a year ago, at home Nov. 3.

The first road trip takes the Panthers to Wofford Nov. 8. The Terriers were 19-16 a year ago and represented the Southern Conference in the NCAA Tournament.

Back at home Nov. 10, Milwaukee is set to host Little Rock. The Trojans were nearly a 20-win team, concluding the campaign at 19-13.

The team will hit the road for a pair of big challenges, starting with the trip to Bloomington, Ind., Nov. 12. Just two days later, it will be on to Texas Tech Nov. 14 for the battle with the Red Raiders, who finished last season ranked No. 8 in both the final AP and Coaches Poll Top 25. The matchup marks the first-ever between the two programs on the hardwood.

The road trip continues with a visit to Kansas for a first-ever showdown with Wichita State set for Nov. 22. The Shockers went 19-15 and were NIT participants.

A quick visit home Nov. 25 to host Dominican will be the only stop prior to a return game with Akron, set for November 29 in Ohio. The Zips posted a phenomenal campaign, winning a school-record 28 contests overall while going 17-1 in 18 games of MAC play and a perfect 16-0 at home.

League play will interrupt the slate for a home game against Robert Morris Dec. 6, before staying at home to welcome Indiana State to town Dec. 14. The Panthers and Sycamores – who are just one year removed from a 32-7 season – will mark the first in the series since November of 2009.

The return to the Fiserv comes next, set for December 19. That matchup with the Jackrabbits will be part of a big doubleheader, as Wisconsin and Villanova are also set to participate. South Dakota State has high hopes for the upcoming season following a 20-12 campaign a year ago. Tickets to this event, which will be good for both games of the doubleheader, are available through the Panthers Ticket Office by clicking here or by calling (414) 229-5886.

The final non-league game will be against those same Badgers, making it a busy week for the Panthers, who will be home for Purdue Fort Wayne Dec. 29, travel to Madison for the game at UW Dec. 30, then a day of travel before dipping back into league play for the remainder of the season. The Badgers went 14-3 at home last winter and concluded the season ranked No. 16 in both the final AP and Coaches Poll Top 25. The pre-New Year battle will mark the first in the series since December of 2019.
