Milwaukee Men’s Hoops Lands Transfer Sekou Konneh

Will have four years of eligibility for the Panthers

April 25, 2025

MILWAUKEE – Sekou Konneh of Milwaukee, Wis., has signed with the Milwaukee men's basketball program and will play for the Panthers next season, head coach Bart Lundy officially announced today.

Konneh comes to the program as a transfer from DePaul, where he redshirted the season as a freshman and will have four years of eligibility remaining for the Panthers.

"Sekou was our program's biggest target two years ago when he graduated from St. Thomas More High School here in Milwaukee," Lundy said. "He is a terrific young man. His athleticism and skill set make him a perfect fit for our program."

Konneh, a 6-foot-9, 205 pound forward, enjoyed a stellar prep career at St. Thomas More High School in Milwaukee, where he was ranked as the fifth-best recruit in the state.

"At his size, he can affect the game in many ways," Lundy said. "He is an elite shot blocker and rebounder. And he has the ability to get the rebound and push it on the break himself to facilitate or finish the break. Our fans will love the addition of Sekou – he will be an exciting player to watch develop."

Konneh averaged 22.6 points, 10.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists as a senior, helping the Cavaliers to a 29-1 record and the WIAA Division 3 State Championship. He finished the season with five consecutive double-doubles, including an impressive 20-point/14-rebound outing in the state title game. He concluded his three-year high school career with 1,488 points and 966 rebounds.

In his junior season, Konneh averaged a double-double with 16.7 points and 14.0 rebounds per game on his way to All-State honorable mention honors.

On the club side, Konneh played for the Phenom University program on the Nike EYBL Circuit.

He held offers from Louisville, Wisconsin, Loyola Chicago, Indiana State, as well as the Panthers, before committing to DePaul following his senior campaign.
