INDIANAPOLIS – Kallie Peppler of the Milwaukee women's basketball team was selected as this week's Horizon League Freshman of the Week as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.

Peppler played a crucial role in Milwaukee's win over Oakland on Saturday afternoon as she led the team with 12 points in the effort on a 5-of-8 shooting performance including a pair of three-point makes.

In addition to her scoring, Peppler added a rebound, assist, and a steal in the win while playing a season-high 25 minutes.

Earlier in the week she had a rebound and an assist in the team's road matchup at Detroit Mercy.

Thus far on the season, Peppler has connected on 43.5 percent of her attempts from the floor, while knocking down 6-of-16 from distance (37.5 percent). She has played in at least 12 minutes of game play over the past nine games for Milwaukee, averaging 13.6 minutes per game during the team's 28 contests.

Peppler becomes the second honoree for Milwaukee this season as
Payton Rechlicz was named Freshman of the Week on
Feb. 3.

Milwaukee plays a pair of games this week beginning on Wednesday evening against IU Indy at the Klotsche Center with tip-off set for 6:00 p.m.
