INDIANAPOLIS – On Monday, the Horizon League announced that Milwaukee redshirt-freshman Payton Rechlicz was named Horizon League Freshman of the Week for the 13th week of the 2024-25 season.
 
Rechlicz helped the Panthers to a win on Wednesday evening at IU Indy with 10 points, including a perfect 4-for-4 performance from the field. She also corralled six rebounds in the win over the Jaguars.

She followed that up with an eight-point effort at home against Cleveland State on Saturday afternoon. Adding two field goal makes, both three-point shots, as she went 2-for-2 from three as well as 2-for-2 from the free throw line.
 
For the week, Rechlicz shot 60.0 percent from the field, and 100 percent from three. She finished the week with four free throws, eight rebounds, a pair of assists, and a steal.
 
This is the first Milwaukee selection of the season for either Player or Freshman of the Week. The award is also the first individual honor for Rechlicz.
 
Milwaukee will play a pair of home games this week beginning with Robert Morris on Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m., before hosting Youngstown State on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
