MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee swimming & diving teams traveled to Kenosha, Wis., to compete in the Wisconsin Showcase on Saturday.
The Panthers had a great outing on the day, claiming victory in all 16 events. Milwaukee swept the top-five in six different events.
"It was great to get back into racing after a six-week break," head coach
Kyle Clements said. "A lot has changed since our last meet, and it was encouraging to see the physical progress we've made in that time."
Natalie DiProspero had a great showing at Koenitzer Aquatic Center, recording first-place finishes in three individual events. DiProspero competed in the 200 Freestyle (1:55.62), the 200 Butterfly (2:09.09), and 100 Freestyle (53.37).
Christiana Brooks also had an impressive day in the pool, claiming a spot on the podium in four events. Brooks took home the crown in the 50 Freestyle, clocking a time of 24.35. She finished 3rd in the 100 Backstroke, and was a part of the winning 200 Medley and 200 Free relay teams.
Gabrielle LePine picked up right where she left off from her last competition, touching the wall first in both the 100 Breaststroke (1:02.55) and 200 Breaststroke (2:20.52).
Mara Freeman saw success in the backstroke events, securing a first-place finish in the 100 Backstroke (57.85) and finishing runner-up in the 200 Backstroke (2:07.98). She was also part of the winning 200 Medley Relay, which consisted of LePine, Brooks, and
Maddi Hayashi.
Hayashi also secured several victories, with those coming in the 200 Individual Medley (2:12.82) and 100 Butterfly (57.09) events. She was a key part of the two winning relay teams as well.
In the diving portion of the meet,
Kristina Wittmann looked impressive. She secured victories in the 1-meter and 3-meter dives, receiving scores of 265.28 and 245.78, respectively.

The Panthers will be back in the pool on Halloween night when they host Wheaton (Ill.) at the Klotsche Natatorium at 5 p.m.
