Reeves-Lile Continues Strong Start at Badgers Midwest Invite

January 11, 2025

CHICAGO- The Milwaukee men's track & field team competed at the Badger Midwest Invite in Chicago on Saturday. Jaelyn Reeves-Lile continued his fantastic start to the season, winning the 60m dash and setting the school record in the 300m.

Reeves-Lile used a time of 6.83 to take the top spot in the 60m, while his 300m time of 34.10 shattered the previous record of 34.60, and was good for second in the event.

"Jaelyn continues to establish himself as one of the league's top sprinters," said head coach Andrew Basler.

Also running in the 60m was Iyimi Fagbamiye, who built on his impressive debut last week by taking third place and posting the tenth-best time in school history at 6.96. Fellow freshman Nate Taylor finished fourth in the 300m, crossing the finish line at 34.90, the programs fourth-best time.

"Iyimi continues his strong freshman year, he flexed his top end speed in the 60m dash," Basler continued.

Moving to the long jump, Panthers dominated the Podium taking the top three spots. Ethan Mitchell won the event with a jump of 6.86m, followed by Liam Richards (6.76m), and Tim Maidment (6.52m).

In the high jump, Caden Thomas hit a height of 2.00m to claim another first place finish for Milwaukee.

"In the field events, our long jumpers competed strong, and Caden was very consistent in the high jump," Basler finished.
