GREENSBORO, N.C. – The American Baseball Coaches Association recently announced its 2023-24 Team Academic Excellence Award winners, which included the Milwaukee baseball team.
 
The award highlights programs coached by ABCA members that posted a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale for the cumulative 2023-24 academic year.

Milwaukee was one of just four teams from the Horizon League to be recognized by the association, with Northern Kentucky, Oakland, and Youngstown State also receiving academic distinction. There was a total of 130 Division I programs honored in 2023-24.
 
The baseball team currently boasts a 3.342 cumulative grade-point average as a team following the spring 2024 term, which included 11 student-athletes with GPAs of 3.50 or greater.
 
Keagon Kaufmann, Johnny Kelliher and Adrian Montilva all earned All-Academic Team recognition from the Horizon League in mid-May, while Kaufmann, Kelliher, Zach Lane, and Teige Lethert were College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Honorees, announced in early June.
