Four from Baseball Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. – On Tuesday, College Sports Communicators announced its Academic All-District Team for the 2024 baseball season with four Panthers from Milwaukee baseball earning honors.
 
Being selected to the All-District Team were Keagon Kaufmann, Johnny Kelliher, Zach Lane, and Teige Lethert.
 
Kaufmann is an accounting major at Milwaukee with a 3.791 grade-point average and was earlier named to the Horizon League All-Academic Team in mid-May.
 
Kaufmann appeared in 20 games out of the bullpen for the Panthers, which was tied for the second-most pitching appearances by a reliever. He was among the leaders out of the bullpen with a 5.47 ERA while striking out 18 batters over 26 1/3 innings of work while accumulating three wins 
 
Kelliher is studying industrial engineering at Milwaukee and owns a 3.841 grade-point average and was also a Horizon League All-Academic Team honoree in May.
 
During the 2024 season, Kelliher made a team-high 23 appearances on the mound and led Milwaukee with six saves on the season to go along with one win. He also struck out 22 batters over 22 2/3 innings while pitching to a 6.35 ERA during his final season with the team.
 
Lane is majoring in biomedical sciences at Milwaukee and has a 3.939 grade-point average.
 
He started in all 51 of his games on the year while hitting .291 on the season with 58 hits in 199 at bats. He had 10 doubles and was second on the team with seven home runs and finished the year second on the team with 38 RBIs. His .447 slugging percentage was second highest on the team.
 
Lethert is a marketing major at Milwaukee and currently has a 3.571 grade-point average.
 
In his first season with the Panthers, Lethert appeared in 46 games and made starts in 39. He had 30 hits in 138 at bats including eight doubles, one triple, and four home runs while batting .217 on the season. He also walked 19 times for a .321 on-base percentage and was second on the team with 285 defensive putouts.
 
Milwaukee was tied for the Horizon League lead with Academic All-District selections, as Purdue Fort Wayne also had four student-athletes earn distinction. Youngstown State had two honorees, while Oakland had one.
 
To be recognized by College Sports Communicators an undergraduate student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically and must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale, or a graduate student with a 3.50 GPA as both an undergraduate or graduate while competing in at least 90 percent of a team's contests, or start in at least 66 percent of the team's contests. For baseball, it is 17 appearances or 25 innings pitched.
