Block Breaks 400m Hurdle Record at Gibson Invitational

TERRE HAUTE Natalie Block set another program record in the 400m hurdles today as the Panthers competed at the Gibson Invitational and the Green & White Invite.
 
Competing in Terre Haute at the Gibson Invitational, Block set a new program record in the 400m hurdles with a time of 58.34 seconds, earning second place in the meet. She also finished second in the 100m hurdles, crossing the line with a time of 13.44.
 
Caleb Henry topped the field in the 400m dash with a time of 47.51, which earned him a new PR and the fifth spot on Milwaukee's all-time list.
 
Henry was also a part of the champion 4x400m relay team, joining with Zac Schmidt, Zach Weitgenant, and Jackson Statz for a winning time of 3:18.70.
 
Anelise Egge won the 800m run with a time of 2:12.24, while Golden Cotton took second place in the 100m dash, finishing with a time of 10.50 seconds. Katie Burns also found a podium, taking third in the 200m dash at 25.12 seconds.
 
Anthony Campbell took second in the long jump, clearing 7.42m (24'4.25"), and Will Mortimer grabbed third in the triple jump at 14.28m (46'10.25").
 
As a team, Milwaukee finished second on the men's side and third on the women's side, collecting 75.33 and 95.25 team points, respectively.
 
"Overall, I think we took a good step forward," head coach Andrew Basler said. "We had a lot of people perform well, and we still have another week to improve our marks before conference."
 
Green & White Invite
 
At the Green & White Invite in Milwaukee, Kalea Weyenberg led the way for the Panthers, winning both the 100m dash and the 200m dash. She recorded winning times of 12.56 and 25.69 seconds.
 
Cloey Fare topped the field in the 100m hurdles, winning with a time of 14.21 seconds. In the prelims, Fare finished in 14.01, moving her up to fifth on the all-time list.
 
Jamie Pankratz won the hammer throw, recording a distance of 48.85m (160'3"), and Bryan McLaughlin won the triple jump with a hop, skip, and a jump of 13.14m (43'1.5").
 
Trey Meier earned a second place finish in the 1500m run with a time of 4:08.30, and the 4x400m relay team of Harper Fahey, Dylan Longworth, Wade Duffek, and Gavin Czarnecki took third in 3:34.06.
 
Sara Jochims took third in the 5000m with a time of 19:04.98, and Longworth finished third in the 400m dash at 51.18 seconds. Aiden Janke grabbed third in the discus with a throw of 43.32m (142'1").

The Panthers will compete at their two final regular season meets next weekend, as they will send athletes to the Clark Wood Invitational and the Drake Alternative. The Clark Wood Invitational will be in Louisville, Kentucky on April 26 and 27, while the Drake Alternative will be in Whitewater, Wisconsin on April 26.
