Block Breaks Milwaukee 100M Hurdle Record at Raleigh Relays

Pankratz grabs third in hammer at Redbird Challenge

March 29, 2024

MILWAUKEE Natalie Block set a new Milwaukee record in the 100m hurdles at the Raleigh Relays as the Panthers continued their opening weekend to outdoor season at multiple meets.

Raleigh Relays

Block placed third in the 100mH with a time of 13.29 seconds, breaking the previous program mark of 13.66, set by Block in 2022.

"The highlight of the day was definitely the women's short hurdles," head coach Andrew Basler said. "I thought all four of those ladies got their outdoor campaign started off strong."

"For Natalie, it was her first 100mH race in almost two years. To be able to open up with a school record and a mark that will get her into the NCAA West Prelims bodes well for what's to come."

Kynnedi Malone, Anna Szepieniec, and Cloey Fare joined Block in the race, placing 14th, 17th, and 20th. Malone and Szepieniec broke into the program top ten with their times, as Malone's 13.81 puts her at fourth, and Szepieniec sits tied with Fare for fifth at 14.04.

Anelise Egge ran her way into seventh place on Milwaukee's all time list in the 1500m run, finishing in 4:34.82.

"I also thought Anelise ran a solid first 1500m of her career," Basler commented. "She knows there is a lot more and we are excited to watch her grow in that event this season."

Redbird Challenge

On the first day of the Redbird Challenge hosted by Illinois State, athletes competed in just two events – the men's and women's hammer throw.

Jamie Pankratz placed third on the women's side, recording a distance of 49.61m (162'9"). Samantha Satterfield finished just behind in fourth, throwing 47.48m (155'9"). Finnegan Shields led the way on the men's side, finishing eighth with a throw of 45.61m (149'7")
