WHEATON, ILL.- The Milwaukee men's swimming & diving team was right back in the pool Saturday, claiming victories in 10 overall events against Wheaton (Ill.) Saturday afternoon. The Panthers put together a strong effort to run up the leaderboard, winning by a score of 149-68.
Â
The win moves them to 1-2 on the season.
Â
"Saturday was a good end to our fall dual meet season." Said head coach
Kyle Clements, "We were able to race some of our 'off' events that we don't get to swim in a standard dual meet, but we will have to swim in a championship format. Getting those reps against another good team does nothing but help us in the future."
Â
Milwaukee had an outstanding balanced effort, finishing in the top spot in 10 of the 11 swimming events, with eight different individual winners.
Â
The dominance started early claiming the top four spots in the 200 medley relay, winning it with a time of 1:34.08, they then closed the meet winning the 200 freestyle relay (1:25.5).
Â
Kicking off the individual events
Konnor Pilger grabbed first place in the 1000 freestyle (10:06.7), followed by
Gunnar Seversen in 200 freestyle (1:44.83), touching the wall first as well. Next was the 50 freestyle, which was taken by

Caleb Carlisle continued his fantastic weekend, winning the 100 freestyle with a time of 47.35. Closing the winners in the pool was
Kevin Soltys in the 100 backstroke reaching the finish in 53.44.
Â
Clements finished saying. "The team continues to swim faster and faster even though we were on a back-to-back on the road, which is a good sign going into the house of champions meet that is a three-day meet."
