WEST ALLIS, WIS. - The Milwaukee men's cross country team was back in action Saturday morning, taking part in the Warrior Invitational hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran at Greenfield Park.

The Panthers took second place out of the eight teams to record team scores at the evening, with the Panthers ending the day with 52 points.

Milwaukee produced five finishers within the top 14, paced by freshman
Nathan Powley who took third with a time of 26:47.50.

"Nathan bounced back well from his last race at Indiana State to take a good step forward," said head coach
Andrew Basler.

Harper Fahey recorded a top-10 finish with a time of 27:43.91, while the next three Panthers all finished consecutively in 12th through 14th positions.
Zach Moss was 12th at 27:54.90, followed by
Gavin Czarnecki at 28:07.49, while
Sam Blascyk was the fifth Panther to finish at 28:11.00.

With its second-place finish, Milwaukee also won the traveling trophy awarded to the team with the best combined score between the men and women. The women's team finished with a team score of 43 for a combined team score of 95.

Milwaukee will have their next meet Friday, Oct. 18 at 1:30 p.m., when it travels to Peoria, Ill. for Bradley's Pink Classic, the final meet before the Horizon League Championships.
