Men's Cross Country Finishes Sixth at Pioneer Gender Equity Invite

September 23, 2023

CUBA CITY – The Milwaukee men's cross country team placed sixth out of ten teams today at the Pioneer Gender Equity Invite hosted by Platteville.

"Today's race was more about individual opportunity than team success," head coach Andrew Basler said. "We had a lot of good steps forward for the younger guys that raced today."

A pair of freshmen led the way for the Panthers on the course today. Lucas Picco finished the 8K race in 12th place with a career best time of 26:25.2, while Aidan Sosnowski finished 17th with his own career best time of 26:46.9. Rounding out the top three for Milwaukee, Trey Meier finished 77th with a career best time of 28:40.8.

"It was a great step in the right direction for the young guys," associate head coach Jake Reilly commented. "It was good for them to get a few 8Ks under their legs and really figure out how to run a full race."

The Panthers are back in action next Friday at the Blugold Invite, hosted by Eau Claire.
