September 16, 2023

TERRE HAUTE – The Milwaukee men's cross country team finished in the 10th spot out of 18 teams today at the John McNichols Invitational hosted by Indiana State.

Aidan Sodemann continued to lead the way for the Panthers, this time with a 14th place finish out of 257 runners. Sodemann finished with a career-best and program second-best time of 24:35.5 in the 8K race. Sodemann's time was second only to Trevor Wenzel's 24:12.8 last season.

"(Sodemann) had an outstanding day," head coach Andrew Basler said. "I think he'll have a lot of momentum over this next month or so going into the league championships."

Next to finish for Milwaukee was Cullen Boyle, who posted a 43rd place finish with a career-best time of 25:01.4. Bryce Tome rounded out the top three finishers for Milwaukee with his own career-best time of 25:19.4, good enough for 59th overall.

"I thought all of our guys ran well," Basler said. "I was really happy with how they performed and proud of them for getting those career bests."

The next race for Milwaukee comes September 23 in Platteville, Wisconsin. Platteville will host the Pioneer Gender Equity Invite.
