URBANA-CHAMPAIGN –
Aidan Sodemann and
Bryce Tome led the way for Milwaukee cross country, each finishing with a time of 19:04.7 in the 6k race at the Illini Open.
Including Sodemann and Tome, four Panthers finished within .5 seconds of each other.
Cullen Boyle and
Ian Nadolski finished just behind the pair of fifth-year seniors with a time of 19:05.1.
"I think everyone who had already run a 6k finished with a lifetime best," Head Coach
Andrew Basler said. "It was a really good opener for us, and everyone stayed together in a pack, while executing really well."
The Panthers scored a total of 45 points as a team, falling to the host's 15.
"The score doesn't worry us too much," Assistant Coach
Jake Reilly said. "We were focusing instead on the execution of the race plan and the team's ability to run together.
The Panthers are back in action September 8 in Green Bay at the Phoenix Open.
