GREENWOOD, Ind. – Six members of the Milwaukee men's & women's track & field and cross country programs were selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team as announced by the CSC on Wednesday afternoon.

The announcement follows Tuesday's recognition of 12 Milwaukee student-athletes to have been named to the Horizon League All-Academic Team.

Earning College Sports Communicators All-District Honors were
Caleb Henry and
Trevor Wenzel of the men's team, while
Annie Guerrero,
Lauren Lietzke,
Meg Swietlik, and
Tabitha Wechlo earned recognition from the women's program.

With their selections, each of the six Panthers are now eligible for Academic All-America honors, which will be announced in late June. Milwaukee's last Academic All-America selection came in 2019, when Peter Andrew was a second team honoree. Milwaukee's lone other Academic All-America selection came back in 2000, when Paul McGinley was recognized as a member of the third team.

Henry joined the team in 2019-20 and has been a competitor primarily in mid-distance events. He boasts a career-best 22.88 in the 200m dash, a 48.56 in the 400m dash, and a 1:32.71 in the 600m run for his indoor career. During the outdoor season, he owns a 22.58 in the 200m dash and a 400m time of 47.53 as career-bests.

Wenzel came to Milwaukee in the fall of 2018 and has been a three-season athlete competing for the cross country, indoor and outdoor teams during his five years with the black and gold. Wenzel has career-best cross country times of 16:05.8 (5K), 19:08.8 (6K), 24:12.8 (8K), and 31:04.6 (10K). Meanwhile during his indoor career, he has best marks of 4:12.99 in the mile run, 8:19.30 in the 3000m run, and a 14:25.31 in the 5000m run. In outdoor races, Wenzel has career-best marks of 3:50.12 in the 1500m run, 14:22.16 in the 5000m, and a 30:10.40 in the 10,000m run.

Guerrero also joined the Panthers in 2018 and has been a high jump specialist since her arrival, with a pair of appearances at the NCAA Preliminaries in both 2021 and 2023. Her career-best mark during the indoor season was at 1.74 meters, while her outdoor career-best jump was a 1.75m set both in 2021 and 2023.

Lietzke also wrapped up her fifth season with the Panther program and continues to add to her decorated academic resume with the program. In the throwing cage, Lietzke has amassed top throws throughout her career including career-best marks of 14.67 meters in the shot put and 17.06 meters in the weight throw during the indoor season. In the spring outdoors, Lietzke has career-best distances of 14.85 meters in the shotput, 45.53 meters in the discus, and 50.82 meters in the hammer throw.

Swietlik joined the team in the fall of 2017 and competed in both cross country as well as track & field and helped the cross country team to four team championships during her time with the program. Her career-best marks in cross country include a 4K time of 15:32.4, a 5K time of 17:48.1, and a 6K time of 20:00.5. During the indoor track season, she has personal-best times of 9:53.89 in the 3000m run, and a 16:41.28 in the 5000m run; while her outdoor top times include a 4:52.97 in the 1500m run, a 17:14.27 in the 5000m run and a 36:29.85 in the 10,000m run.

Milwaukee's selections also included Wechlo, who recently completed her third season with the team in 2022-23. A member of the Panther throw team, Wechlo has a career-best mark of 14.24 meters in the shot put and a 15.13-meter distance in the weight throw during the indoor season. Meanwhile during the outdoor season, she has registered top distances of 14.67 meters in the shot put, 40.45 meters in the discus, and 42.85 meters in the hammer throw.
